  • The number of Boston luxury condo owners that are no longer paying on their mortgages is quite high36,000 in Massachusetts to be exact. Of the 36,000, all of them are a minimum of 3 months behind on their mortgage and a third are behind a year or possibly more. These are startling numbers. While many people would chalk it up to deadbeat Boston real estate condo owners, it may not necessarily be the case. There are quite a few Boston homeowners that are frustrated beyond measure and simply at their wits end as to what to do in regards to the banking industry. They have no idea how to move forward and have simply thrown up their hands for lack of a way forward.

There was a piece written by a writer for the Boston Globe that detailed the story of a Boston real estate owner on the Massachusetts North Shore that had purchased a house in 2006 and stopped paying on his $360,000 mortgage because his mortgage company refused to provide written proof that he had been approved for a mortgage modification.

The owner, Richard Zombeck, had stated to the Globe, The majority of people arent looking for a free house, they are looking for a fair deal. You come home every day expecting to be evicted. There is not a lot of joy in this.

In situations such as that of Richard Zombeck, what should homeowners do when they feel they have unfair choices or a lack of choices to protect themselves from ugly situations in regards to their mortgage companies Are these individuals deadbeats or have they simply found themselves backed into a corner and unable to figure a way out
